Suspected ingestion of a harmful substance — identify it, call poison control, and keep the airway clear.

Find the container or note what was taken, when, and how much.
- 2Call poison control
In the US: 1-800-222-1222. Otherwise call emergency services.
- 3Do not induce vomiting
Unless specifically told to by a professional.
- 4Keep airway clear
If unconscious, place in recovery position.
- 5Bring container
Take the substance/container to the hospital if going.
